Make-up Classes

OR: Go BACK to the class menu

At Solstice Studio we ask that you commit to your dance development by enrolling in a full session. It has been proven deeply true that excellence in your dancing will come from this commitment. However, we know there will be times when you will need to miss class...and this should not be a reason to prohibit you from taking class. Therefore, we offer many opportunities to make-up your missed class.

With full enrollment, you may make up TWO missed classes by attending any of the other classes that are not full (please see schedule below). Make-up classes must be done before the end of the session (with one exception--see below about if you miss the last class).  There are no refunds or transfers for missed classes. Please do not ask for an exception. We offer multiple opportunities each week for you to make up your class, so we do not take responsibility if you are unable to find a make-up class that fits into your schedule.

In all cases, when you are making up a class, you are not to ask questions regarding choreography or movements that are being reviewed, or clarifications for the movements that you don't know. As each class builds from one session to the next, you have missed those other classes, so you cannot expect the class to be held back because you are new for that day (big reason we limit drop-ins to certain classes).

What if I miss the last class of the session?

You are welcome to make-up your class in advance of your absence.  But if you miss your last class of the session unexpectedly, then you still have one week into the following session to make up your missed class.

Can I make up in a class that is above my current class-level, or altogether different?

YES!  We encourage you to sample the other classes taught at the studio.  Don't be intimidated by an unknown class or higher level class.  All teachers welcome make-up students in their classes.  All that is asked of you is that you do not slow down the class by asking questions about class material.  You must assume that you are entering unknown territory, and are coming to sample and feel what this different group is working on.  You are most welcome as their guest, but they need to continue to advance the class forward.

How do I make up a class?

All you have to do is show up to your make-up class and sign in with the person at the front desk. When attendance is taken, please let the instructor know that you are making up a class.
